Waynesboro celebrates Fall Market Day: Saturday. October 3, on Main Street with live music, food, vendors, contests, and other family activities from 9 am to 3 pm.
The Waynesboro Fellowship of Churches is sponsoring its 55th annual Waynesboro Area CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 4th. Registration begins at 1:30 pm, and the walk starts at 2 pm. The 2-mile paved route begins and ends at the soccer fields on the corner of Washington Township Blvd. and Country Club Road. Click below for more event info.

Lesher’s Poultry Farm near New Franklin is also famous for its annual sunflower crop. This year, the farm planted 230 acres, which will be harvested mostly for birdseed. Pressing sunflower seeds produces sunflower oil and sunflower meal. The flower contains 40% oil on average, compared to 20% for soybeans. As a cover crop, sunflowers have a deep root system, can loosen the soil, and also attract many pollinators.
