Join us for Destination Bluegrass Weekend in Waynesboro, PA on November 13, 14, 15, 2026! The Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro’s Destination ARTS! presents Destination Bluegrass the weekend of Nov. 13 – 15, across multiple venues in downtown Waynesboro, PA. The main event on Saturday, November 14, features the Grammy Award-winning Jason Carter Band.
“We are so excited to have the Jason Carter Band headlining Destination Bluegrass in Waynesboro,” said Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro Board Member John Lanehart, who conceived the event.
“Jason spent 30 years playing fiddle with the Del McCoury Band — the most awarded group in bluegrass history — before starting his own band with hot young players from Nashville. So this is sure to be an amazing show.”
In addition to Saturday night’s main event, Destination Bluegrass will feature three days of open bluegrass jams, performances, and meet-and-greets. Other featured bands and artists include FrankCo Penn, Tatum True Band, Shale Pile, Johnny Calamari, Martha Spencer, and many more.
This weekend-long takeover of Waynesboro, PA, was inspired by the town’s history as a bluegrass destination, which began at a local hardware store in 1989.
“That’s when musicians first gathered for a jam at Beck & Benedict’s Hardware on Main Street,” Lanehart explained. “When Beck & Benedict’s closed, the hootenanny tradition continued — and it’s currently thriving, thanks to support from the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro.”
Between bluegrass events, visitors can enjoy exploring shops on Waynesboro’s revitalized Main Street, as well as local antiques malls, restaurants, and independent craft-breweries.
“This town has so much to offer,” said Lanehart. “Add that to a weekend of really top-notch music, and it’s clear that Destination Bluegrass is going to be an incredible, memorable experience.”
