How Andrew Gehman of 2085 Productions connects businesses to their audiences through visual storytelling

When Andrew Gehman was 13, his father gifted him his first camera. Soon afterward, Andrew captured the image of a black bear with his Nikon. “From that moment on, I was hooked on the power of images,” Andrew said.

While pursuing a film/video arts degree at Penn State, Andrew developed an interest in filmmaking. “I was introduced to non-narrative storytelling and fell in love with the documentary film-making approach.”

After graduating, Andrew gained over 15 years of experience working freelance with various production companies, small businesses, and corporations, ranging from higher education to retail B2B to luxury brand healthcare. He launched his own business, 2085 Productions, in 2016.

During the past 10 years, Gehman has developed a diverse clientele. Most of his clients are in Franklin and Washington Counties, but Andrew has traveled throughout the region to complete assignments.

Gehman enjoys working with small to medium-sized companies that benefit from his video and photography services, firms that typically don’t have their own marketing department. One client summed up Gehman’s professional demeanor: “Andrew has great business sense; he really understands small businesses, and it shows in his work. He’s detailed and punctual without compromising creativity.”

The result is a range of services that produce one-of-a-kind brand video advertising. 2085 Productions creates video footage in many genres. These include documentaries, brand stories, educational content, event recaps, product features, testimonials, interviews, and tutorials.

This variety of coverage helps Gehman fulfill his business mission: “I connect organizations to their audiences through video storytelling. People have invested time, energy, and care into building a business, and that’s a story worth telling.”

Gehman believes that his expertise in crafting high-quality video content maximizes web and social media engagement. This increases his client’s profits, generates awareness, and helps them stand out among thousands of digital offerings in today’s competitive market.

When working for clients, Andrew assesses all the factors that are vital ingredients for a successful shoot. “It’s like a game of chess,” he said, mentioning the importance of moving the camera in proper sequences to make videos believable and appear seamless. Gehman is also skilled at evaluating light sources and balancing natural and artificial light. He often brings in his own lighting for interviews and other situations.

2085 Productions also shoots aerial footage, and Gehman is a licensed drone pilot. He says customers appreciate the special viewpoints seen from those elevated perspectives. “It’s the icing on the cake. The shadows and patterns you see from up there are amazing.”

Combining these professional services, Gehman has earned high praise from his clients. One particular testimonial summed up Andrew’s skills: “2085 Productions is a first-class, quality-driven, and expertly run film company. Our company, Vigilante Coffee, had the pleasure of working with Andrew and company for 5 years, and they’re true professionals. Great storytellers with the camera, but can also keep it simple and easy.”

As Andrew Gehman moves forward with 2085 Productions, he focuses on his firm’s mission. He will continue making films that combine stunning visuals with well-crafted narratives. He wants to harness the power of storytelling, creating memorable media that resonates with audiences by forging genuine connections. Gehman summed up his creative philosophy in two words: “Stories matter.”
