ABOUT THE DAILY BORO

The Daily Boro launched on October 23, 2025, to form a collaboration of Waynesboro-area writers, photographers, and other community-minded citizens.

This local group will share views and experiences unique to Waynesboro. By providing a free online source of daily news, culture, events, profiles, and resources, we seek to enrich the lives of people in Franklin County and neighboring communities.

We will fulfill this Waynesboro-focused role by sharing information, evaluating cultural trends, and publishing the best of local art and imagery. Our most important function will be communicating daily with local people.

As our team takes shape, more information will be available soon about contributors and new website features.

The Daily Boro is not a hard news site. Many sources are readily available for that type of information. However, as we approach subjects on a community and cultural basis, we will practice the same journalistic news ethics. We will honor traditional norms for accuracy in reporting and will respect the individuals we encounter.

The Daily Boro is not owned or influenced by any media, government, or business interest. Working independently, we will actively pursue Waynesboro-area subjects without bias. While doing so, TDB will explore creative avenues to engage our readers. We also believe people and events throughout Pennsylvania, the four-state region, and across the nation influence life in Waynesboro and add greater meaning to all lives.

The Daily Boro intends to share experiences with all elements of Waynesboro’s society and encourage everyone to participate. Please offer your suggestions, ideas, event info, or share your personal or family stories. Waynesboro is home to 11,000 citizens, and each person has a story to tell. Contact us and share your story.

Editorial and Ethics Policies

As we report on news stories or subjects with cultural or community ties, we will always rely on facts not ideology. We will cover events and happenings regarding individuals and groups with a fair and unbiased approach. The Daily Boro will not publish unverified information; we will always confirm facts through credible sources or independent verification.

The Daily Boro is not affiliated with the Borough of Waynesboro, nor is it owned or influenced by any local business or civic group. Decisions about editorial content will fall solely on TDB’s independent editors and contributors, and those judgments will be made without regard to advertisers or government interests.

We will not use Artificial Intelligence to compose articles. The Daily Boro believes that humans are more capable than computers of conversing with and interpreting the people they’re reporting about, especially on a local level.

The Daily Boro is committed to producing content that is free to the public. We want to share as many community events as possible with our readers. The Daily Boro will accept press releases and notifications from all sources but cannot guarantee they will be published. We also reserve the right to edit those news releases for length, without changing their meaning or specific purpose.

For contributors, we will accept submissions by local authors, businesses, and organizations. If they advance TDB’s mission to inform and educate readers about Waynesboro and the surrounding area, we will be in touch about publishing them. Similar to press releases, The Daily Boro may edit these submissions without changing their meaning.

Regarding The Daily Boro’s ethics, we will strive to attain a level of fairness that mimics the Golden Rule: to treat others with the respect and courtesy that we expect for ourselves. To accomplish this, we will uphold a standard of journalism that promotes a shared sense of humanity and trust.

Our contributors will strive for accuracy with the intention of doing no harm to individuals, businesses, or groups, while honestly reporting all sides of a story or event. In TDB published articles, we will make it clear what the confirmed facts are versus information we have yet to corroborate.

The Daily Boro will be accountable. With any endeavor undertaken by humans, mistakes are inevitable. When that occurs, we will take immediate steps to correct them and will handle that process with transparency.

We will listen to readers’ feedback and make necessary changes to reflect the best interests of the community. Opinions expressed by TDB contributors are theirs alone and do not necessarily reflect the viewpoints of The Daily Boro.

About TDB Content

The Daily Boro will publish new content each weekday, which will be featured on the homepage. These subjects will remain posted on the front page for approximately one week. A weekend section will be published on Fridays. All individual subjects will also be found on their related secondary pages (such as sports, business, and lifestyle), and these articles will remain online for a month. Afterward, select articles will remain in our archives section for specific subject categories. For example, a local government piece will be viewable in the community/local government/archive. Special weekly features, such as “Only in Waynesboro,” “Seen Today”, “Did you Know?” and “Top Twelve Lists” will also be available in the main archive under TDB Features.

The Daily Boro will also display links to other news, entertainment, and lifestyle sources, which will lead readers off our website and onto those respective third-party sites. The linking button will contain that site’s name to alert TDB readers they will be leaving our site, if they choose to do so.

All resource information for local organizations, non-profits, hobby groups, businesses, and entertainment venues will remain on the site as long as those entities are open/active and they want to be listed. To post your Waynesboro area business or organization’s purpose, contact info, and website here, email us: ([email protected]). If already listed on our site, please notify us if your information has changed, and we will update it.
