WAYNESBORO AREA HALLOWEEN EVENT SCHEDULE 2025
WED. OCT 22: STONER’S DAIRY FARM TRICK-OR-TREAT NIGHT
This free event takes place at Stoner’s Dairy Farm in Mercersburg, PA, from 6-8 pm. Kids can collect Halloween candy while walking through a 5-acre corn maze. The event is limited to the first 300 children, and will be held at 7678 Oellig Rd in Mercersburg. More info at: stonersdairyfarm.com.
WED. OCT 22: WASHINGTON CO., MD SHERIFF’S TRUNK OR TREAT AT HCC
The Hagerstown Community College Campus Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Washington County Parks and Recreation Dept. are sponsoring a free Trunk or Treat Event from 6-8 pm at HCC’s ARCC Gymnasium at 20715 Scholar Drive in Hagerstown. Costume and coloring contests will be included.
THUR. OCT 23: FUNKSTOWN, MD HALLOWEEN PARADE
The parade along Baltimore Street begins at 6 pm. The event will feature local middle and high school marching bands, color guards, fire trucks, and local organizations and businesses. Kids and families can march at the parade’s end in the Community Costume Walk with no registration required.
FRI. OCT 24: WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA TRUNK OR TREAT
The Washington Township Police Department will host a Trunk or Treat event at the police station from 5-8 pm at 11798 Buchanan Trail East in Waynesboro. Activities will include spooky surprises in decorated trunks and other surprises for kids.
FRI OCT 24: WAYNESBORO THEATRE HOSTS THE MOVIE- ERNEST SCARED STUPID
He’s goofy. He’s fearless. He’s Ernest. In this 90s movie classic, Ernest accidentally unleashes an army of trolls on Halloween, and chaos and hilarity ensue. Movie tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for kids. The theatre is located at 75 W. Main St, Waynesboro. (717-387-5335)
FRI. OCT 24: DOWNTOWN HAGERSTOWN HALLOWEEN BLOCK PARTY
From 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Hagerstown will host a community Halloween event for all ages on S. Potomac Street. A kid’s costume contest takes place at 6:30 pm, and adults compete at 7 pm. FRI/SAT OCT 24-25/FRI/SAT OCT 31-NOV 1: HAUNTED JAIL, CHAMBERSBURG
The Old Jail historic site in Chambersburg will be transformed into a clown-themed terror fest at 175 E. King Street. Visitors beware: the Old Jail will present many scary surprises, including loud noises, flashing lights, jump scares, and uneven floors and stairs. SAT. OCT 25: HOWL-O-WEEN DOG COSTUME PARADE
Bring your pooch to the Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Parade from 11 am to 1 pm at Fairgrounds Park. Hagerstown Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the event, and it includes pet-friendly vendors and treats. Preregister by noon Friday, Oct. 24, for $10 or on the day of the event for $15. Prizes will be awarded to several categories, including doggie duos, scariest, funniest, most creative, and celebrity dog. SAT OCT 25: TRICK OR TREAT ON MAIN- CHAMBERSBURG
This weekend event from 11 am to 1 pm in downtown Chambersburg will feature a costume contest at Courthouse Plaza, and candy from local non-profits and businesses. The Downtown Business Council is sponsoring the event.
SAT OCT 25: ALSATIA MUMMERS PARADE, HAGERSTOWN
This parade is the longest nighttime Halloween event on the East Coast, a 1 ½ mile trek from North to South Potomac Street that begins at 6 pm. Don’t miss this traditional Hagerstown event, the best parade in the local area.
SAT OCT 26: HALLOWEEN AT ROUGH EDGES BREWERY WITH WEST BRANCH 3
From 6-9 pm, Rough Edges hosts a Waynesboro Halloween event at 91 West Main Street. It’s a party, you know what to do. Come dressed up if you dare!
SUN OCT 26: STRYKER’S SPOOKTACULAR AT MERITUS PARK
Join Stryker, the Hagerstown Boxcar’s Baseball Team mascot, for a free event at Meritus Park in downtown Hagerstown from noon to 2 pm. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and collect candy from community partners at this attractive baseball stadium.
MON OCT 27: MERCERSBURG HALLOWEEN PARADE
This annual Halloween Parade begins at 7 pm, and school bands, community members, and local organizations will participate.
TUE OCT 28: EXPLORE: A PEEK INSIDE A PUMPKIN AT BUTTONWOOD NATURE CENTER
This Explore After School Program takes place from 4-5 pm and offers kids in grades K-5 an opportunity for a “hands-in-pumpkin” experience, which includes learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin, the chance to harvest pumpkin seeds, and to paint their own pumpkin to take home. TUE OCT 28: FRANKLIN COUNTY FIRST RESPONDERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUNK OR TREAT
From 6 to 8 pm, this annual event will take place at Chambersburg Middle School North, 1957 Scotland Avenue. Franklin County first responders and related organizations will be present to create connections with families and individuals who attend. Candy and costumes will make the event fun for all ages.
THUR OCT 30/FRI OCT 31: AREA COMMUNITY TRICK-OR-TREAT NIGHTS
Waynesboro kids will collect candy from 6 to 8 pm, as will children in Chambersburg and Mercersburg during the same time period. Greencastle celebrates Halloween on October 30 (6-8 pm) with a rain date scheduled for October 31.
